01The short answer
For most men it is a generic, from an ordinary pharmacy, for about a dollar a tablet.
That is an unsatisfying headline and it happens to be true. Every product on this page and every product we have reviewed is built on one of four approved molecules. What the online services sell is the convenience of not having a conversation — packaging, delivery, and a form instead of an appointment.
Some of that convenience is worth paying for, and the ranking below reflects it. But you are buying access, not a better medicine, and it is worth knowing which one you are being charged for. We have written separately on how to read a list like this one, including ours.
02The ranking
Approved products only, best grade first.
Compounded combinations are deliberately absent. Not because every one is bad — several disclose honestly and dose sensibly — but because “best” implies a recommendation, and we do not recommend starting on a product whose combination has never been shown to beat either component alone. Those are reviewed in full on the reviews page, and the reasoning is set out in our piece on combination pills.

How this list is built
We take no affiliate commission and there are no referral links on this site. Nobody pays to appear here, and we are not paid when you buy. That is why an option with no commission attached — a generic from your own pharmacy, a discount card, an appointment you have already booked — can sit at the top of the list.
We are also a clinic that treats this condition, so several of the companies ranked here are our competitors. Read the list knowing that. Every position is derived from the individual reviews rather than chosen for the list, every price is quoted from the company’s own page with the date we read it, and doses are graded against published approved maximums rather than our preferences.
Before you buy anything
No list can examine you.
Erectile dysfunction is frequently the first sign of vascular disease. Whatever you decide to take, have your blood pressure and blood work done — that part is not optional, and nobody on this page makes money from it.
