This clinic treats a condition that men frequently keep from their closest relationships. Confidentiality is therefore not a compliance exercise here; it is part of the treatment. What follows is how that works in practice.
What we collect
We collect what is needed to care for you and no more. That includes your identifying and contact details, your medical and sexual history, examination findings, laboratory and imaging results, medications, treatment records, and payment information.
We also record your communication preferences — how you want to be contacted, whether we may leave a voicemail, whether we may send post. These are treated as clinical instructions, not marketing settings.
How we use it
- To provide, coordinate and follow up your treatment
- To process payment for the care you receive
- To run the clinic — scheduling, quality review, staff training and legally required record-keeping
- To contact you about your care, using only the method and schedule you specified
We do not sell your information. We do not license it, share it with data brokers, or use it to target advertising to you anywhere.
When we disclose
We disclose your information without your written authorisation only where the law requires or permits it: to another treating provider involved in your care, to your health plan for payment where you have asked us to bill it, in a medical emergency, in response to a valid court order or subpoena, and for mandatory public health or safety reporting.
Everything else requires your written authorisation, and that authorisation can be withdrawn at any time. This includes disclosure to a spouse, partner, parent or adult child. It also includes your primary care physician: we will coordinate with them gladly, but only once you have said so in writing.
Your rights
- Access. You may inspect and obtain a copy of your record.
- Amendment. You may ask us to correct information you believe is inaccurate.
- Accounting of disclosures. You may ask for a list of disclosures we have made.
- Restriction. You may ask us to limit how we use or disclose your information. Where you pay in full out of pocket for a service, we must honour a request not to disclose that service to your health plan.
- Confidential communications. You may require that we contact you only at a particular number, address or time.
- Notification of a breach. You will be notified if your unsecured information is ever compromised.
This website
We do not run third-party advertising or social media tracking pixels on this site. This matters more than it sounds: a substantial body of reporting has documented healthcare sites transmitting page views and form contents to advertising networks through exactly those tags.
We do not embed a third-party map, because doing so would report your visit to that provider before you had any chance to consent. The consultation form is transmitted over an encrypted connection, and it is deliberately kept minimal — nothing clinical is asked of you until you are in a consulting room.
Security & retention
Records are held in an encrypted electronic health record with access auditing, so we can see who opened your chart and when. Staff access is limited to those involved in your care and your billing. Records are retained for the period required by state law and professional obligation, then securely destroyed.
